Has anyone played C3C on an AMD64 system yet?

Has anyone played C3C on an AMD64 system yet?? Am looking to get a AMD64 chip & 1 GB Ram, just wondering if anyone has run it, & what it was like?

I have. It's not significantly faster than it was on on my 2.8 Mhz Intel based system.

I think the extra ram will help. I went from 512 to 1Gb.

The difference late game is huge.

I guess the real question is what type of system are you running it on now?

Not if you are not running other apps. Civ will not use more than about 360MB.

Running on Pentium M (1.4 GHz) & 512 MB RAM

In that case, it will no more than double your speed (and only then on large-ish maps).

Actually, i've found civ3 to use alot more ram than 360Mb.

That's probably because it was a self made HUGE map (256x220) and i had 12 civs, and i was at the arse end of the game.

oops.... i just remembered that was Age of Mythology that chewed up the RAM.

Sorry, i was wrong. Put yeah, Civ3 loves the cpu cycles...
