or is it far, far more common to get barbarians from huts in Conquests?

I'm finding Expansionist to be more and more useful because of the no barbarians from huts bonus.

Did they make barbarians more likely, or has my luck just gotten worse?

I haven't noticed more from huts. What I have noticed is more barb camps spontaneously appearing than before. Patrols are required for your undeveloped hinterlands.

Huts do get worse on higher difficulty levels, yes. What level are you playing?

It depends greatly on difficulty level. At about Emperor and above, I find it to be very uncommon to get anything other than barbs unless you are an expansionist civ.

I believe there's an article with the actual percentages in the Strategy Articles section at CFC.

            It is more common.

Also, in PTW you wouldn't get barbs if you had no, and were building no, military units. You would also not gets barbs from a culture expansion popping of a hut.

Neither are true for C3C. The only way to avoid hut barbs, for a non-expansionist civ, is to pop them using city building culture popping.
