  • Can anyone suggest how to solve this problem?

Hi. I am currently playing a very large game- 320X320, all Civs in Conquest.

My system is a Dell Pentium 4, 2.8ghz, 1 gig ram. Video is Nvidia Geforce 4T 4200, with up to date Drivers. Current saved game size is 1.63mb.

The game take almost 20+ minutes inbetween my turn. The system goes "Not responding" often with CPU usage at 100%, (and at least once while I am playing my country). Any suggestions how to increase the speed or how to stop the "Not responding"?

    Thanks

    Derek

Increase speed: Buy a supercomputer. If you want to play maps that big, you're going to have to stick it out. Only way to reduce time between turns signifigantly is use a smaller map.

The "not responding" is a little odd. You would think it would be able to handle it, albeit slowly. Perhaps the map maxes your resources and causes it to crash occassionally? Again, only thing I can suggest is smaller maps.
