I have created a .big file how do i start a game with those rules changes? I am running Conquests

If you have altered the rules, just save the game as a .biq (which is standard) and when you play it the rules will be incorporated into the game from the start. You do not need to do any thing else

I assume you saved the rule changes as a seperate file and put it in the default folder it wanted to save in, right?

In that case, just start the game, click on "Civ-content" on the main menu, and look for the file name you saved it under. The game will then be loaded with those rules. Btw, you can't change rules during a ongoing game. Only newly started games will acquire the new rules.
