War weariness accumulation

Here's a question that's certainly been asked before.

Does war weariness accumulate separately for each war declared?
For example, the Russians declare war on my democracy. Several turns later, the Inca declare war on me. When my military alliance with Spain against the Russians expires I make peace with the Russians. The war against the Inca continues for a few turns.

Do my people only get war weariness based on how long the second war has been going or is based on how long both wars have been since they overlapped.

I assume the former but does someone know?
