Well, I just gotta say thank to Firaxis for all their support, which is not the norm in our "fast moving" world. They do listen to the hardcore fans on this and other sites and try to improve and patch the game as often as possible. That is why I have been loyal to Civ and most other Sid games in the last 15 years or so...

So what's the general consensus? Is 1.20/1.22 worth installing? I'm still using 1.15b, which is pretty good IMHO. I'm not interested in downloading the new one basically for a tech tree change I can get in the AU Mod, if it's going to introduce new glitches, like giving the AI more gold or (dare I say it) screw up the corruption calcs again.

If you don't install 1.22, any unmodded games you play from now on will be incompatible with the final patch (whenever that comes) for sure.

If you like to keep your old saves around, you probably want to install 1.22 ASAP or remain on 1.15 forever.

None of the saves I have downloaded or saved work under 1.22.

That is fine by me, but be aware.

[QUOTE]by Alexman... ...or remain on 1.15 forever. /QUOTE]

This may be indeed be feasible, or a least till something truly compelling comes on down the pike.

...or is cooked up downline by new blood.

-same for all other optional biq files in scenario folder

Still, I could call all this a group of minor bugs.
Auto bombard for cannons doesn’t seem to work. (I’m not sure if it worked in C3C or earlier patches at all, as last night was the first time I tried it since the game came out. And I am uncertain if other arty pieces are effected).

vmxa1 was unable to load prior saved games; what experience have others had? At the glacial speeds I play, it takes a long time to complete games (and I hate to waste the effort, at least when the issue is still in some doubt). With 1.15 I *was* able to play my older games. -- HtL

Word has it they are definitely not compatible now. If I were you I'd dual install and get the best of both worlds.

Er uh excuse me kindly there DrSpike, the 'best' of both worlds? Tell me, is 1.22 a good world? Not to be skeptical, however is there 'proof' of the wonders to be hand in 1.22? Or have the bugs just changed names and moved around a bit?

                          Sincerely,

Well I meant the best of both worlds in that he could finish his old games, and start new games with the 1.22 patch. I made no comment in that post as to the patch content. You can find my opinions quite easily no doubt.

No doubt. My apologies for offense. I am realizing that my attitude does not seem salvagable.

I had a dream, Firaxis was given a large donation of money from Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates. It seems he was getting concerned that at the rate things were going he may be in danger of inavertantly having another monoply due to everyone elses incompentence. Honest. I need a break I think.

No offense taken........your attitude is understandable enough, even if a little overdone.
