  • NEWS FLASH Firaxis is hiring!

///WARNING what follows is satire! Proceed at your own risk!!///

Welcome to the Firaxis bug enhancement team. Where expectations are not expected and zero credentials desired. (If you have, had or intend to play any CIV, mod any CIV or worse yet have an actual history of even volunteer beta testing CIV we DO NOT want you) That said please take your seats.

Can you paint? Spin tall tails or better have you ever worked in any PR capacity of either major party?

Here, our motto is, ‘why do it right, when you can just move on’. Never mind our founding Father is sleeping, we are at liberty to do nothing significant.

Our goal is change, any change will do. Remember we’re headed for CIV 4 so mucking up here with the old C3C will only enhance future sales. Frustration sells!!

That’s right, never mind what you may have learned elsewhere, here we enhance bugs, repaint them and push them out the door reborn ‘features’!!

This sells!! Fixing, actual improvements with any goodly disclosure is waste and since we already went gold and we know gold does not rust, pushing to new lows is not a problem.

    Welcome

    That post is so immature.

Yeah I admit it, I chuckled too.

Although I'd like to refute your satirical points, alas I find I cannot. I really wish I could find the post made just before C3C where they said their extensive testing was supposed to mean that C3C wouldn't require any further attention.

They messed up, lets see what they do about it before we cut of their heads.

That's a fair point, but their posts so far do not fill me with confidence regarding their resolve to fix outstanding issues, let alone carry out the tweaks that would make C3C a better game.

Thanks Doc! I admit to immaturity, however I somehow feel better now...

I have a sincere suggestion, open forum. If CIV 4 is completely different, built from the ground up, then perhaps some kind of open code arrangement can be garnered for the now 'old game' to extend the life and usefulness of C3C. Oh, and this IS NOT satire, rather a humble prayer.

            More News!!

Backward compatibility has been ‘reported’ dead. (never-mind my sources ). Yes it is true, first it was just weekly and then up and died! That’s right, however there are two spins on the story, one official and the other a pure ‘rumor’.

First, the official story: Backward compatibility has been misnamed ‘a bug’ by some Firaxis underling and they now decided that it was easier to ‘keep it that way’. Watch for future announcements.

Second the unofficial story (rumor): Modders finding that there modded games may still work despite the death of backward compatibility have decided to keep silent on the issue as it clears out the backlog of competition. (And no misconduct was proven )

PS. As your reporter reporting on the front-lines, I have not confirmed the ‘unofficial story’, however, here do make a public call to ‘someone’ else to please try their saved modded games out with 1.22 (same name last edition) and let the rest know!
