  • Leaders&Wonders

Hello. I have patch 1.15 installed, and in the last games I've noticed I can't use leaders to hurry wonders more than once. I usually use the first leader to build an army, the second one to hurry a wonder, but then I can only use leaders to build armies or hurry city improvements (small wonders included).
Is this the way it's meant to be? I remember from PTW I used leaders to rush wonders more then once in one game. Is this some new C3C thing?

Are you talking about just MGL's (military great leaders)? MGL's cannot be used to hurry a great wonder, just small wonders and armies. To rush a great wonder you need an SGL (scientific great leader). If you were using an SGL and couldn't rush a wonder then I don't know what's up.

Thanks for the speedy reply, I got my mgl's and sgl's confused.

oh,BTW, I understand sgl's can either rush wonders or boost science production in a city. What is exactly this science boost? Is it beneficial enough, even over rushing a great wonder?

The SGL can be used to start an "Age of Discovery", boosting research in your entire empire by 25% for 20 turns. Depending on your game circumstances, that can be extremely powerful. I'd put it up there with a lot of wonders, and even above many of them.

Yep, it's buggy. Rushing wonders is almost always more powerful anyway, though. Unless you're in a real dry stretch (mid industrial corridor), use it on a wonder.

Don't worry about it, there very rare for most of us. But I think what alexman is talking about is that you can see the research stay on the same turn for more than one turn if you use an SGL for a science boost. So it does not alway yield the benefit that is was meant to give.
