  • Any way to change max # of cities?

Hi. I love playing what I would call maxed out games (reg Civ III I would do 256 by 256 and 24 civs). On conquests, tried a 330 by 330, all civs (32). Game used up all its cities before 220 BC. Anyone know a way to inc the number?

    Thanks

AFAIK you are stuck with 512.

Nope, that's been hard coded. Maps that size really aren't practical with the current limitation. I discovered that 256 x 256, with no cities allowed on Desert or Tundra is just about right. Only a few small areas remain undeveloped. I suspect even those can be used up if you were to eliminate some of the worthless cities the AI sometimes builds.

You could also add in "no cities in jungle" and then make "clear wetlands" require replaceable parts, require coal, and cost some huge number (like 120, which would translate to 30 turns, or 15 with fascism).

Inspired by Rhye's of Civilization over at CFC. With Rhye's mod, you cannot clear wetlands period, no ifandorbuts.
