    Civilopedia:
The spice Homo neanderthalensis born in Middle East in 100.000 b.C. and disappeared around the 35.000 b.C. These dates are refuted by some scientists, some of them says the Neanderthals survive until 10.000 b.C. and trade instruments with the modern men. These dates are so polemic that some people believe they were not dead, they are alive in some parts of the Planet that do not has contact with the “Civilized World”, like small villages in Himalaya or they are alive in our genes, result of the crossing with Homo sapiens in the past. The causes of the extinction are not clear until today, maybe a strong flu present in humans and fatal to Neanderthals, caused it.
Neanderthals is not the ancestor of the Homo sapiens specie: both have a common ancestor, the Homo sapiens cro-maignon. Scientists believe the natural causes, like the ambient temperature, were the reason of the birth of these two species. They are stronger than present humans and have more piles, their brain has the same size of ours, but was not so efficient to communication between members of the same specie.
Neanderthals inhabited Middle East and Europe, they lived in small groups, formed by families and were nomads. Some scientists says they used instruments did with stones created by themselves, others disagree. The first fossils were discovered in Neander Valley, Germany in 1856.
It is a fantasy civ, so the leader names and the bonuses are fake. So, I considered this race Expansionist (they were nomads) and Militaristic (because the image of the wild cave men, hunting bravely). You are free to choice your combo.

    Civilopedia, Cave Man (UU):
Replace standard Warrior, they have these characteristics:
    - Cost 20 shields, instead 10.
    - Attack: 03, instead 01.
    - Defense: 03, instead 01.
    - Upgrade: none
This Civ does not produce any foot unit until the Industrial Age. Cave Man is a powerful unit that hunt human when the game starts. Few human units of Ancient/Middle age can defeat Cave Man, they must attack in larger groups to defeat few Neanderthals units. The Cave Man is really stronger, if the humans found a Neanderthal city, they must destroy it the faster possible before this city turns a centre of production of wild hunter.

The Last March of the Neanderthals (fantasy scenario)

History: This scenario shows a fantasy war of the first Men against Neanderthals. The chosen year was 6.000 b.C , when appeared the seed of the ancient civilizations. Remember: this is a FANTASY scenario, this war never happened, so, some dates are not correct, as the rise of Romans, Egyptians and the date of the die of the Neanderthal race.

Map: “Ancient World”, with parts of Europe, north of Africa and Middle East. It size is 180x180 and was done by myself.

Civis: Total of 12, 10 of the World of the Men and 02 of the Neanderthals one, using the alliance system of Civ3Conquests. This second race has biggest territory and better units, so 10 x 02 will a good game. The civis are:
01- Neanderthals from North (inhabitants from Europe)
02- Older Brothers (Neanderthals from Middle East)
      03- Celts
      04- Slavs (represented by Russians)
      05- Illyrians (represented by Byzantines)
06- I.L.N.U. or Italian Languages native users (represented by Romans)
07- Proto Germanics (represented by Germans)
      08- Mycenians (represented by Greeks)
      09- Babylonians
      10- Sumerians
      11- Hittites
      12- Egyptians

I’m making (when I have spare time) the arts of Neanderthal leader (the same art to both Nean. Civis) and a unique unit called Cave Man. Men’s civis will use the standard units from Ancient Times and the same leaderhead of this era.

Axe Man use Berserk arts (UU of Vikings).
Long Spearman use Numidian Mercenary arts (UU of Catharge).

Neanderthals are still alive, in a way. Many of them were absorbed into the human race (yes, Homo sapiens sapiens and homo sapiens neanderthalitis are genetically compatible. Yes, it's weird, but it's true, sadly) and their genes became part of ours. This explains a great deal.
Now just don't go forming any angry mobs now, you hear?

That is not been resolved at this point. I mean chimps have some 90%+ gene match, so it only means we have some common points in the tree.

            Looks like fun!

There are few games focusing on the pre-history. I thought the Neanderthals UU far to strong, but then it will get weaker when the Men Civs get technically more advanced.

Wonder or they'll be able to tech up quickly enough though before being wiped out. Ah survival of the fittest

              I don't thick that's a fact.
I think the Neanderthals went extinct because of too tough competition from sapiens.

I think the bbc programme Walking with Cavemen would interest you...

BTW: looks quite good. Erectus, habilis, australopidicus (leaders) have nothing to do with neanderthals.

I have BBC in my cable TV network, but I don't know when this program will be exibited (shown). do u know???

Oh, I don't have a good idea to name the Neanderthals leaders, so I used tha name of the old species of Homo sapiens root. I thought use the name of the scientists that studied Neanderthals, but I don't know if it a good idea...

                        news

I had some big problems theses days , as a car crash , unfortunally I didn't have much spare time these days, but I hope it will be all clear this weekend. I'm building the tech tree (civilopedia, place techs and units...) and finish the arts of two new natural resources, I have to post the news as I can.
I'm not able to get Poser (name of a good program to draw leader and units), it is get late the project too

                        regards from Neanderthals!!!

Hope things will look up for you!

Glad to hear you're still working on the mod though.

You're going to create it all from scratch? Wow! I would just use some of the great stuff others made. (with their permission/credit of course) Still atm i've little time to start creating scens/mods myself. Hardly can find the time to play. Ah well, makes it easier to wait for the mod to be ready i guess .

I'd be glad ig you use my creations in other Scenarios, you can use all my creation that you want (maps, resources, tech tree, units...)
You can download one of the wonder used in this scenario, the Bison of Altamira, this is not the final arts, but you can check how the arts are. If u want u can use it in the game. I'm prospecing for a better software to draw WonderSplash, Improvements... when I decide what software I'll use, I can do the final arts.

                            regards!

Actually, bronze is not found naturally. It's an alloy of...I think it was tin and copper. But it's not found naturally. Still, a Copper resource and a Tin resource would be nice.
