  • Editor Questions

I am sorry for starting a thread but I could not seem to find a general editor's thread anywhere and I didn't want to misplace this somewhere. I am not very skilled at anything beyond general playing ability and I am trying to make a scenario that restricts the powers to their actual places on a world map. I am using a variation of Kal-El's Earth map with resources and in the editor it lists all of the Civs including the Conquests one but when I load up the map to test it out it will not allow me to pick any of the Conquests Civs. Again, they are listed in the editor but not when it comes time to pick the Civs you want to play with in the game. How do I:

    1. Include all the Civs.
    2. Restrict Civs to one starting spot (I want them historically accurate so to speak).

I know this is pretty basic stuff for most of you but it is all pretty new to me. Thanks for your time.

    1) go to scenario, set custom player data. Go to scenario properties, and set number of players to the maximum, (ie 31).
    2) for each starting position click on the circle and reassign to the civ you want to start there.

    should'nt take to long.
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

Hmmm. There is no way to save the scenario with the properties screen open. After I select all the new Civs it will not let me save the scenario and when you just close it the scenario does not save. How do you save the properties after making changes to them?

Hi, srilanka! You do not need to worry about the properties window just close with OK at the bottom of the screen. Then either 'save as', with an orginal name or control S to the new file scenario name that you may have already chosen.

Save as and rename the file in order to get out of the 'default' file. Make desired changes and save again.

          I hope this helps

Thanks. I run my system at 88x600 so I was not seeing the bottom of any of those menus. I thought there might be more to the menus but was not able to pull it up any farther.

The editor really needs to be run at 1024x768 or higher.

I believe there is a kal-el scenerio map with the correct starting locations
