Game can't find it's own sound files

Here's my error:


Sounds\Diplomusic\DipNaEarlyPeace.mp3 could not be found. Game will now close.

I have the patch, but sadly, the patch isn't covering this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game several times, so that isn't a solution either. I read a thread elsewhere where some people had this problem on the help forums, but no one actually posted what they did to fix the problem. Anyone know how to get the game to recognize the files are in the directory?

I had the same problem with a flc. file (graphics?) I tried manually copying the file to the right folder but that doesn't seem to work and I haven't heard the correct fix yet.

Apparently the quick fix is to make a copy of another sound file and change the name to the file that can't be found. It won't be the sound that is supposed to be there but at least the game will find something and not crap out on you. (haven't tried this myself though)
