Does the Scientific Golden Age work or not?
Does the possesion of a SGL prevent the generation of MGL?
Can we really have multiple MGL with C3C?
    Is mobilization broken?
Why don't these louts tell us how the game works and how C3C was changed?

    Or do they even know?

Not sure what you mean on the first point. Is that reference to using a SGL to get a boost on research? If so , yes it works.

No having an SGL has no impact on creating a MGL, I have had both at the same time.

No, only one MGL at a time.

    Don't know, never used it.

Good question. The readme and the tiny book that came with C3C never even mentioned ensalvement for Man-O-War.

But then none of the manuals tell you little things like what the color of the star means on the capitol.

You can't have more than 1 MGL at any time, but you can generate multiple MGL's during one turn. Generate a MGL, immediately send him off to a city and use him (build an army of a minor wonder) then keep fighting in the hopes of generating another MGL.

Man, that's a lot of pent-up aggression you've got going, jt. Let me quote one of my advisors by saying "Have you taken your medication?"

Not quite sure why some minor documentation confusion would prompt you to suggest an entire company deserves to be violently assaulted, but anemic or even incorrect documentation is standard fare in software, and is often the result of the publisher's rushed schedule and not the developer.

For all the complaining you do, I'd have thought a thread with this subject line would have more substantial complaints that this.

If you actually want to know the answers, there's lots of threads here about the changes to C3C. If you just want to complain, well, have fun I guess.

At the top of any post is a link titled "quote". Click that. Or if you want to do a little more work, copy the text you want to quote and start with a square-bracket, then the word quote, then the other square bracket. Enter text, then use the square-bracketed closing tag of /quote. The button is easier.

Why don't these louts tell us how the game works and how C3C was changed?

Because among the real JOYS of civving is figuring out how it works and being SURPRISED by events in the game! (BTW, I am serious).

Also, there are only so many hours to do things, and there are tooo many things to do. So, as with any underfunded programming project, documentation is the last thing to get done. Besides, it take time and effort to phrase things in a clear, yet accurate manner.

Typically, printed documentation has to be sent out to the printers many months before the game is complete to be ready for boxing date. IIRC, on C3C it was sent in August. With that much of a time gap it will not be accurate.

Civ isnt the only example. Most games, especially MP games have higly inaccurate infos these days upon release. And add to that a patch and manuals are useless...

Just think Diablo and starcraft manuals... I read the manual for starcraft and diablo when it was released and I was like "WTF? X is so broken cheap!" and notcing it was already balanced even though manual claimed stat of the unit/skill wasnt as it was when I ran 1.0 version of the games.

They could provide PDF's for manuals on the CD and make corrections as needed. The updated version could be available for download.

This is a very good idea. At least for those who actually read the manual, like me.

They could create an encyclopedia of game information maybe they could call it a civlopedia. Then they could actually put usefull information in the civlopedia in an easy to find format that could be printed out at your leisure or accessed in game. Then with patches it could be updated. That shouldn't be too hard to do.

They have updated the pedia with the patch, but it needs a lot more data.
