  • Editor problems

I just got C3C and was playing around with the editor last night. I loaded a bix file and saved it as biq. Then I tried to change some forest from that file to grassland. But the grassland tile had a little yellow diamond in the center, and 2 straight, green lines going to the tiles 7 and 3 from it. I have seen from the Conquests scenarios that impassable terrain was marked like this. I didn't want this to happen, but no matter what terrain type I tried, it all had that diamond on it. Then I discarded that map and tried to make a new one. Now the terrain brush was listing new terrain types: LM grassland, LM hills a.s.o. The "regular" terrain types were also there, the difference being that the LM ones had that diamond. However, when I went back to the map I used before, the brush was only listing "regular" terrain types, but all the graphics still had diamonds on them. What happened? Did anyone else notice this? I didn't have time to run further tests on it.

Umm... yeah, I think this is the wrong forum. Can someone please move this to the Conquests forum?
    Thank you.

I think those are Land Mark Terrain, and they act like normal terrain but you can give them a special name. Haven't played around much with the terrain.

        Hmm... Thanks.
I'll play with it more tonight.

Teh LM Terrain are also there so you can give them special bonuses, like extra food, trade, and shields.

That is a nice idea, but there's a problem: if I make a new map or load one from a biq file, the LM terrain is clearly marked when I pick a terrain brush. However, when I open a bix file (even if I save it later as a biq), I didn't get any LM terrain in that list, but I found out the terrain list is actually doubled (so I get 2 plains, 2 grasslands etc.). One of these is the LM terrain, but until I put it on the map, I can't see the difference.
Also I noticed a funny thing when placing roads: I must also place a road on the tile I placed a city, or the graphics will just show roads that go around the city, but not into it. Hopefully, I'll have enough time to test the scenario tonight to see how it goes.
