city names

can anyone tell me how to modify the city names i can't find where they are kept.any help would be appreciated

To change them in the game you need to right-click on the city. The menu that appears includes an option to rename the city.

In the editor the lists of city names are under the civilisations (or is it tribes?) tab, you can access this once you have selected to edit rules.

sorry i should have been more specific i ment how to permently modifiy city names i thought it might be in some text file some where . thank you for the help .

Go to the Civilizations page in the editor. The list of all the city names for each civ is kept there.

There are several threads in the Civ3 Creation forum that discuss city names and offer alternative, usually expanded lists of city names. Leader names, too. Do a Search to find them.
