As I'm not a computer wizard, I haven't installed the beta patches yet as I've read you sometimes had to copy certain original files. I figure the official patch will install smoothly on the original conquest 1.00 version?

    Kind regards,
    AJ

The official patch is supposed to, yes. So far we know that v1.12 works on as-released C3C, but for v1.13 and v1.15 you need to install the earlier patch(es). Sof for v1.13 you need to have v1.12 installed first, and fir v1.15 you need to install both v1.12 and v1.13 first. If this is any indication of the trend, it may be necessary for non-English players to install v1.12, v1.13, v1.15 (Eng) and THEN their specific language update from here.

Keep in mind these ARE all Beta patches.

Jesse - can you answer definitively whether you need to install the already-released English-only patch before one of these, or do they supplant the English patch completely if you want to play in one of these languages?

Can I use the English patch on my European version? At the official site, it stands that it is for US only...

Im sticking with 1.12 until these get posted at Atari hopefully with instructions that will clarify exactly what you need to have installed before 1.15

I bet that the only way to avoid confusion and mistakes is to wait for the end of February ( quite a lot of time BTW ) when the official patch will be released.

This question has been unanswered yet - either you apply the English patch and then one of the above ones to fix to your language version, or you just apply one of the above ones and skip the English v1.15 completely. I have not seen evidence of a different European English patch than the American English patch. I am in NZ, where we just use any old English version patch that turns up, and that is fine.

Are these new 1.15 patches stad-alone or they need both 1.12 and 1.13 to work properly?

                    Only 1.15 is needed.

I think that the answer is that only 1.15 will be needed, when you get it from Firaxis.com on Wednesday.

The existing 1.15 needs both at this time, is that not correct?
The Feb patch is not suppose to require any previous patches.
I don't know about any other conditions for any patches before Feb.

Well, I tested this and it apprers that it's exactly same old 1.15, which lacks some files from 1.12 update, like updated editor for example.

So it does need previous patches.

If you install Beta Patch v1.15 you will have the latest version which 'includes' all files from Patch 1.12 (if you are using a localized version it also includes the 1.01 & 1.02 files). There is no need to install any of the previous patches prior to installing v1.15.

v1.15 is separated into individual language versions to minimize the download times for users who have slower Internet connections. The reason the English version is smaller than the localized versions is due to the localized versions having more files (from the 1.01 & 1.02 patches).

The English version is Identical to the earlier v1.15 posting, it was included in the message for any users who were unaware of its posting.

As always, your feedback and comments are appreciated.

                              Thanks,

                              Jesse
