  • Palace view

Okay, this is sad, but I'm currently playing an epic game with plague enabled, which means (and I think this is meant to be) that I get no palace view. I always enjoyed my humble subjects gratefully upgrading my residence in tribute to my enlightened rule (or the pile of enemy corpses).

As I'm missing this at the moment, Iwonder if anyone has achieved the ultimate palace (and how would they know?) in a game. Whatever the victory I've achieved, I've always still had improvements available - so just how good can that palace be?......post your images here?

The ultimate for me is that I do not have to click to close the thing.

Ditto. I'm glad they did away with it.

Plague is not part of the epic game and must be added. It is part of some scenarios.

Epic just means a regular game as opposed to a canned scenario.

Let's see if I can remember correctly....
There are 3 pieces to the central part of the Palace. Floors 1-3.
Each side can have 2 floors plus the 2 two-storey 'connectors'. So we're up to 11 improvements now.
There's the Stairway and 2 more additions--pillars and front door. So now we have 14.
Then you can put in a lawn and then plant shrubbery.
            Total of 16 palace improvements.

"Epic game with plague"...in the Conquests Scenario list is one called something like "With plague". Starts you back in 4000 BC as in the normal epic game, but activates the plague (which so far hasn't spread beyond one pop loss in only a single city on the two occasions on which I've suffered it - so it's more like a bad cold than Black Death - but the skull and whirling vultures cheer up the map no end).

Yes, that makes it a scenario and therefore no palace.

That's still not complete. You're completely missing the other two sides of the palace. It should include that main building, two corridors on the side connecting to two additional structures.
"When we begin to regulate, there is naming,
but when there has been naming
we should also know when to stop.
Only by knowing when to stop can we avoid danger." - Lao-zi, the "Dao-de-jing"

                            er... my bad.

that was the only image i could find on a quick search, and since i rarely play with asian civs, i don't remember ever seeing one of the asian palaces complete...

Now that I think about it I believe the statues were just in Civ2.
