  • Question before I buy the game

"before I buy the game" implies I'm buying it in 5 minutes, whether I get your replies or not hehe... but please, answer these simple questions.

I like having those huge games with EVERY civilizations at the hardest level. Is it possible to have a game with all 32 civs from Civ3, PTW and Conquest, at once?

And is the max map size still 256x256?

Is corruption fixed, so that I won't need to tweak it at ALL using the editor?

And PS - Am I getting this right. I have Civ3, the first version. I only need to buy conquest and I will have the PTW expansion too?

    1) Yes i'm pretty sure this is possible.

    2) Ummm yes again (not too sure on this one though).

    3) Depends what you thought was wrong with it I suppose. I think its pretty good now. Although I never complained in the first place. There are a couple of problems with the FP and corruption but they are addressed in the patch (beta patch). Should be fine now.

    4) Yes this is right. Conquests includes PTW.

You can only play with 31 civs in any one game - there is a hardcoded limit of 32, and the Barbarians always count as one.

You can customise the mapsize to even bigger than that. Not sure what the limit is, but I will check.

EDIT: In the editor you can make a map size 362x362 as the max, but I suggest you stick to smaller, as it is taking forever to make that map on my computer, and sucking all the system resources.

The corruption is more a factor than in PtW as the FP has been toned down. This was changed so it had more of an effect like it does in PtW for the first beat patch, and (reportedly) has been made even more effective at combatting corruption in the NEW beta (I have yet to test this).

Flip answered the last one perfectly.

C3C can be found for $9.99 so why wait? Bigger maps and more civs than CivIII, so that should be enough for you. Enjoy.

BTW at 362x362 just loading the map will be painful.

I already bought it, as I said.

It's just that I wanted to post this before pressing ALT-TAB and filling out a form to buy it lol

While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.
