I downloaded a load of units for Civ from CivFanatics. I have one problem. I dont know how to get the units into the game . How do I make it so I can see the units's names in the list in the scenario creater? If anyone feels like givin me a step by step it would be much appreciated. Thanks.
In the PTW Editor there is a button on the Units tab that reads "Add Unit" once you add a unit you need a folder with all the animations and an .ini file that declares the paths to those animations. Then you need to edit the text files, Pediaicons.txt is the only one that needs mandatory editting I think.
The whole process can be simplified with the C3MT by Gramphos.
Thank you. that worked for the most part, I was able to go into the game and see my unit on the 'build order' screen. However, when I clicked and chose to build this unit, I got a 'Load Error' saying something about the PediaIcons file. Before I attemtped to test my unit, I had added the unit into the pediaicons file in any place that seemed right. Why am I getting this error?

You have to add a couple of lines in the pediaicons.txt file, which you'l find in the Text folder, that point to the folder that contains the graphics etc. At the the bottom of the page you'll see some entries that read #ANIMNAME_PRTO_Unit_Name. The PRTO bit has to correspond to the Civilopeddia Entry field in the editor.
I doubt it. There won't be any major changes made at this point, now that they're starting to work on Civ 4. And it's not that big of a deal, once you know what to do. It's just a case of typing in a couple of lines.
