What's Up With the Editor?

I had made a scenario and was playing it; however, I noticed that the aerial view was no longer allowed (no longer an option when you right click a city and get the pull down menu and the "eye" icon is missing in the city screen view) and that the menu for the space race doesn't work (the box in the right hand corner of the screen is there, but does nothing when clicked). I at first thought it was my scenario that was messed up, but I didn't change anything to do with the aerial view or the space race menu. So I did a little test...I went into the editor and made no changes other than going to the top bar to change the rules of the game, but without actually making any changes. I then saved this scenario in...Civilization III\Conquests\Scenarios along with my other scenario (so when the game is initially turned on you have to go to civ-content to find the scenarios I made). Again, the aerial view and space race screen/menu where not working. So what's up with this??? I have Civ III, Civ Conquests, and the conquests 1.02 patch installed and otherwise everything else seems to work. Is this the way Conquests is supposed to work whick I think would s**k or does this game need another patch or what?

Oh, and another thing ... when I completed the last spaceship component I thought to myself that I wouldn't be able to launch it since the "launch" button is on the space race menu (which is missing), but what happened is that it launched as soon as the last piece was made and I won immediately afterwards...I thought that it took 20 years or so to reach its destination before you could claim a space race victory. So what's up with this?

I made a bunch of scenarios in the past and everything worked fine, but now that Conquest is installed things just aren't working out. Any help would be appreciated.

Aerial View is disable in Conquests, IIRC. The reason is due to the new improvements that some Conquests introduce. You will see in the normal Epic game the new Conquests Wonders don't show up in the aerial view.

Yep. MrWIA is correct. Arial View is disabled in the Conquests.

There is also no new artwork for the new Wonders so even in the epic game where 'city view' is not disabled, the new Wonders don't show-up.

Perhaps this will be added in the next patch. Who knows?

Yeah, I knew the new wonders didn't show up in the "normal" game, but didn't know that the aerial view was disabled for scenarios created through the conquests editor - now I do. Thanks for letting me know.

But what about the space race menu like I mentioned above???

I have also noticed some odd things in a created game. There was no palace view (or prompts to add to it) and I was able to build radar towers from the beginning. Don't know how either happened since I did nothing to influence either one.

Yeah, I noticed that it didn't prompt me to add to the palace either. Not sure about the radar towers I'll have to look for that.

Does your space race menu show up for a scenario that you made?

I'll have to check. Not sure if I still have it. I may have switched off the space race victory option.

On Space Race, that was Civ2. With Civ3, once you complete the Spaceship, game over. I liked the challenge of Civ2's Space Race: do you launch with less than 100% chance of success or wait, hoping to beat the AI?

yep, they got kind of lazy on the art for the new wonders and buildings

Art is peripheral. Only civving matters.

The game is great, but for my money I would have appreciated the art work and I would have appreciated my scores from my scenarios to show up in the hall of fame automatically as they did in the past - I am tired of entering them in manually, but I digress from my original thread.
