scenario loading help!

whenever i try to load a bigger scenario in c3c, after i select my civ, it goes to the map, but nothing is shown. everything is black and it says please wait... it says configuring but after like 10 seconds, the game stop responding...

can anyone help me?

Some information that may be useful :

what are the spec of the system such as operating system, cpu speed, mem, desktop settings.

is this a scenario that was downloaded? Is a mod used, which one.

Are you able to play random generated maps?

Do you have to cancel the program? reboot?

Have you tried rebooting? Do you have enough free disk space? Can you load new large C3C games?

1.2ghz windows xp, 512 mb ram

basically all the scenarios i added myself wont work, only the ones that came with conquest works. i can load random map no problem.

tried rebooting, not working.
i have 50 gb of free space....
