  • Viewing the big picture of a city

    Hi,

I just purchased Civ III, Conquests, and if I remember correctly there was a way in Civ III to view a big picture of any of your cities. It showed a picture of your city with all of the buildings in it. You could not really do anything with it other than look at it.

But, I don't remember the command to view it. Or, am I thinking of some other game where you can do this. It has been a while since I played Civ III.

    Thanks

Right click on any city and select "aerial view". That's one way, there's many others. It's a bit pants really, as you'll still only have one building per street and the improvements you've built; and I don't think the new improvements/ wonders have their own graphic for this view either.

It's the big eyeball...poke it in the eye and it will go to the city view.

New wonders in C3C are not represented in the aerial view.
      Haven't been here for ages....

Aerial view is not available in scenarios in C3C.

Ah, that explains it. I was playing one of the intro scenarios and I did not remember seeing the ariel view option.

I wonder why that option is not available in the scenarios?

          Oh Well, Thanks

What's the point, how many people actually bothered to take a look at their cities? Another thing they did away with, thankfully, is the graphics of your people building a Palace. No more irritating interuptions for nothing.

Ah, I thought it was something funky with my machine.
I was so disappointed when I didn't get to see Zeus or Mausollos.

I love when I have a city with multiple wonders and I can actually go see the city. In fact, that might be one of my favorite parts of the game. Sure the wonder completion popup is nice and I always read the 'pedia entry, but it's a real letdown not getting to see the wonder in my city.
