My first C3C epic game (small map, 4 (total) civs), there seems to be about 3 of every resource. This means that someone always gets left-out from something. So far, all the Rubber and Uranium are on the 'other' continent. Fortunately, Coal and Aluminum are on 'MY' continent.

Exceptions: There were 4 Iron, but only 1 Ivory. There were also NO rivers anywhere on the globe!!!!

What does Ctrl+Shift+Q do???? I've seen this in a couple of posts, but I can't find a comprehensive list of keyboard shortcuts.

      Thanks,

This one quits the game, allowing you to restart to your heat's desire.

And the changes to make resourves more scarce were intended. It was after all far too easy to get all strat resources to yourself with a bit of early warmongering.

If you prefer the old way just manually change the appearance ratios of the strategic resources to some number higher than they currently are and play with that modification.

Back to the ROOTS of addiction. My first missed poll!

Actually, I don't mind some of the adjustments, but something like coal and iron are not rare on earth. Now aluminum, diamonds and uranium, those should be rare. In all the C3C games I've started so far, diamonds seem to be plentiful, much more so than iron. Now that is a wierd twist of fate.

Where do you make the changes? Which file?

As it turns out diamonds are becoming quite common and I suspect the monoply will collapse soon. Huge deposits are now in Russia and Canada.

...not to mention the recent progress in creating synthetic diamonds of good quality in high quantity.

You need to use the editor. It is called Civ3ConquestsEdit.exe and is in the main Conquests directory. Once it is opened, use it to open conquests.biq, again in the main Conquests directory. This is the rules file for the game.

Then go to Rules, Edit, Natural Resources. Choose the resource you want from the dropbox, and increase the "Appearance Ratio". This is what controls how many of each resource appears in randomly generated maps. You can generate a map in the editor to see how much difference your changes make by choosing Map, Generate Map. I have only seen a way to change the Appearance Ratios of Luxury and Strategic resources, not bonus ones (like wheat).

When you are happy with how many of each resource turns up, save the file as preferably something different to conquests.biq. Better still, save the original file elsewhere before you do all this so you can return to the original if you want. To start a game with the new appearance ratios, make sure the old .biq file is safe in another folder, and change the name of your new altered .biq file to conquests.biq Then, when you start a new game, the rules will reflect the changes you have made.

I really urge everyone to play around with the editor - you can actually fix a lot of little things like this that you want to fix - no patch needed! However it does not give a solution to the gpt, FP or RCP bugs.

I can't find the "let mimi win all her battles" option in the editor...

So you haven't found a way to make your civ's units all have huge hp and attack/defence strengths then?
