locating resources

Is there any way to find out where resources are located on the map, other than visually.

In my current game with 11 other civs, I have steam power, yet I cannot locate coal to build railroads in my, or anyone elses, territory.

How can it be that there is NO coal anywhere??


none of the other civs show coal as a resource, and visually, i see no coal anywhere.

Have you tried using Control Shift N, and then Control Shift M to look? Control Shift N allows you to choose what will stay on the map when you do the Control Shift M option.

You are welcome. My hope is that some of the resource graphics that were modded for Civ3 will be updated to Conquests. The ones with the letter icons helped me to find that elusive coal.
