I'm gonna say yes. I've already spent 3 hours with it, and I've only had it for about that long. If I spend about 150 hours playing, then it comes out to 20 cents an hour.

So, I haven't followed the C3C hype. What are the changes mentioned? My majority of play was with the earlier versions; I played a bit of PTW, but it didn't really seem to add much to the game, aside from some nice AI tweaks. What has changed now?

Not sure how up-to-date it is, should give you a rough idea.

Thanks........good info. So you don't need PTW to play this, but all the PTW AI changes are included?

PTW even comes with it for free.

You are joking about PtW coming free with it, right?

Else that invalidates the need for the Civ3 Gold pack - all you need is the original Civ3 and C3C in that case.

What do you mean by PtW comes with it? Do you mean that, upon installing C3C you get a C3C and a PtW subdirectory to the Civ3 main directory and you can play each one separately, or just that all the changes from PtW (The Internet, new civs) are in C3C as well?

C3C certainly includes "all the PTW content" so in that sense you're getting it for free. How the folder structure and executables are arranged I have no idea.

Civ3 Gold includes all 3 games? That does seem redundant if the info here is true.

Nope, "Civ3 Gold" includes just Civ3+PTW. You have to buy C3C seperately.

That is the idea, if anyone who actually has the game could confirm this, please

Ah I see. Still seems like the redundancy comment is true though.

Yes, you do and can. The main thing left out of the PTW stuff was all the 'Best of the Net' stuff.

I installed C3C. I already had CivIII and PTW. After the installed it, I have a start menu for Atari. It has PTW and C3C. My old start menu for Infogrames now only has CivIII. The PTW was removed.
All files are in the original directory. I manually created a start entry for CivIII and move both to it so I can find all three in one place.

I suspect the reason for GOld (other than money) is for those that are not stocking the original CivIII any longer. In that case you would be fried as C3C would not be playable without CivIII.
