  • Changing Leader Heads

I have NEVER attempted to change leader heads, but for the Civ 3: PTW scenario I am doing, I would like to try it. So, can someone please help me? How do I change it?

You need to edit the pediaicons.txt for the scenario there are a bunsh of referenses for leaderhead files in the beginning of the file. Just change the once corresponding to the civilisations you edit.

OK, so I just edit all the refrences to the leader heads.

in the editor, the first civ I made was re-named from Germany. so do I change the RACE_GERMANY to RACE_ARDAN for example, to?

And for the advisors, do I have to change the art\advisors\BS_all.pcx to get the new leader head or can I leave that?

A new leader head I have says its a .rar will that work or is it .pcx only? Will any image file type work?

if you change RACE_GERMANY to RACE_ARDAN
        You would have to add
        #RACE_ARDAN
        art\leaderheads\Filename.pcx
        art\advisors\Filename.pcx

to the #START LEADER/RACE ART section of pediaicons.txt (which you should make a version of in your scenario directory)
        (The German files are
        #RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS.pcx
        art\advisors\BS_all.pcx)

Then you should add sometihn instead of
        #HAPPY_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_HAP.pcx

        #SHAPP_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_SHAP.pcx

        #LKISS_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_KIS.pcx

        #SKISS_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_SKIS.pcx

        #ANGRY_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_ANG.pcx

        #ILOVE_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_CULT.pcx

        #LOVED_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_CULTB.pcx

        #LHURT_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_CONQ_L.pcx

        #HURTN_RACE_GERMANS
        art\leaderheads\BS_CONQ.pcx

Of course you don't have to replace all the files, but you would at least have to have a valid entry for the PEDIA KEY you select for your civ.

And to change the aniamtion you simply edit the rules

Isn't there four fields in the bottom left corner of the civilization tab, one for each era? (I'm running Linux right now, so I can't start the editor.)

Out of curiosity, what kind of scenario are you working on?

Well, actually, I'm kinda building 2.

I built a "test" scenario to make sure I could do those things right.

And then, I am making an ACTUAL scenario I will upload and post here if you guys would like, of The Lord of the Rings.

I think it will be quite good!
