  • rules file?

Um... I can't seem to figure out which file should be edited for game parameers in Civ3 PTW a la Civ2 rules.txt.

Are things no longer as easy?

    Thanks

You should NOT edit civ3x.bix, but create a Scenario instead.

You pretty much need to use the editor to do it.

Sorry, it no longer works that way, you have to use the editor.

Actually, it's now much easier than it was before. Though playtesting can get much more tedious. You can't change the rules midgame, so you have to start from scratch numerous times until you ge things right.

Gramphos, you can probably answer this best. Would it be possible to write a tool that extracts the situation from a save and turns it into a scenario? Conversely, would it be possible to inject the rules from the editor into a save file?

Nope. Bix's don't carry diplomacy info and current production.

I know that. I was just wondering if it was possible to extract nearly everything that could be gotten into a new bix. I've had games that would have made a great scenario even without the diplomatic aspects and the production.
