I'm fairly sure that for our farmers to support by themselves a population of 18 Billion people that most Americans, and too a lesser degree, those in other developed countries would have to go on a diet.

I'm sure we in America would be happy if certain other countries were capable of feeding themselves (and I'm sure many would disagree...).

I didn't say it was at the level we currently eat at. Americans eat a lot of food.

We also waste a lot of food (Like at a Buffet or something).

Waste is not just in the Americas.

I have travelled quite a bit and seen massive waste all over this beautiful planet of ours....

I agree. I have travelled much and seen (too) much. Smog in Beijing and Mexico City thick enough to climb on. Industrial wastelands in Slovakia and Russia. Polluted rivers nearly everywhere. Nuclear damage in the Ukraine and Three Mile Island (less than 10 miles from my house!). America is not perfect but alot of the criticism coming our way smacks of hypocrisy to me.

(Now all that talk about buffets is making me hungry. )

Buffets... excellent, where is the food???

Yes, I agree that you guys field far too much criticism on far too many topics.

We live in a strange day and age, where the Heroes of the 20th Century and damned so much.

I say heroes, for my understanding of The Great War of the Last century, and WW2 could only be stopped through the raw industrial might and the sheer weight of numbers of troops from the United States of America.

It is also my understanding that they were not the Nation State that started either of these conflicts that engulfed a great proportion of the planet, but they helped in finishing it.

You have also been condemned for showing up in Somalia, and not showing up in Rwanda. For helping the South Vietnamese, and Koreans, but not doing it right.

In addition, The United States is one of the most tolerant and multicultural societies on the planet.

              Good luck mate!

Ok time I had a beer, and got of the soap box....

As my Great Gran used to say....

              Bloody Yanks,

              Over Sexed,
              Over Paid,
              and Over Here...

It is my understanding that in WW2 there were more US troops, of all varieties, in our Australian State of "Queensland", than there were Aussies.

Thanks mate, now, can you send them sheilas back home soon....

I believe we actually dislike having to intervene anywhere but get frustrated when nobody else (i.e. the U.N. and some individual nations) cares enough to do so themselves (hoping we will go anyway?). Then we become the butt of complaints ranging from acting too slowly to being heavy handed. I've always said its tough being the good guy. The only nation I can think of that is more frustrated than the U.S. is Israel.

having worked in pubs for a few years, I saw lots of tourists really running a muk... yet in my travels I have had the opportunity to visit a few of them in their home environment. It is funny how different the people were when they got home...

maybe you need to pack up your kit bag and hit the road o/s for a while

                              ISRAEL? FRUSTRATED??
Now seriously, I didn't want to post here after my lame troll, but this is too much. I totally agree with panag.
Israel is a country who has had enough with having survived so many years without being swallowed by the hate it has caused around it.
Don't know... a country who continously laughs at UN resolutions can be considered frustated? Someone who does nothing for a living except receiving guns and money from his father can be considered frustated?
WE at Spain are frustrated. 91% rejected war but we have been sent to it. Now that's frustrating (sorry, I had to say it somewhere).

BTW, UN is useful... If you're a good person you will be voted Secretary General and win the game
"Nuestros enemigos son imaginativos y están llenos de recursos; nosotros, también. Nunca dejan de buscar nuevas maneras de perjudicar a nuestro país y a nuestro pueblo; nosotros, tampoco." George W. Bush
