  • Troubles with PTW and CivEXT

Hello. I've met a guy at a spanish forum (meristation) that has a problem with his PTW and the CivEXT patch. He can't post here (and doesn't know why), so I'm posting in his place. Sorry for the poor translation:

Hello, I've got Civ3 and PTW (american version). I had v1.14f, so I updated to 1.21f to be able to use CivEXT (to remove the maximum number of cities), but now I have a very strange problem

I was playing when I suddenly realized that worker hasn't the "build railroad" option. I look everywhere and I notice that every resource I owned just disappeared!!! F***, I didn't change anything! That's it. I build a city and then the resources come back.

Later, my turn ends, and i see that I have to wait... and wait... finally, when my next turn begins, about a half of my cities (I had more than 200) ended with "We love the king day" and a lot of them are in civil disorder.

I wondered that the cause were the missing resources, but the resources were there. I suppose that:
Before end of turn: resources all right.
    During turn transition: resources disappeared.
    Next turn: resources re-appeared.

I suppose that everything would go all right if I pass the turn. This never happened with the 1.14f. Somebody has an idea?

Maybe the CivEXT is the cause of the bug, but the addon only allows the player to build more cities. I can't see the relation.

    Thank you.

I've never seen this bug, so I suppose it's a consequence of the CivEXT. If somebody experienced a similar trouble, please help us.

    Thanks a lot.

    What is CivEXT ?

I have never heard of anything that can remove the city limit, most people seem to think that it is hardcoded and this I beleive was confirmed by a Firaxis employee.

I would like to hear more about CivEXT.

As for the problem it does seem to be CivEXT related. Anytime you change the game you take risks.

Civ3Ext is not posted on Apolyton.

If you want help with it you should go to a thread realted to it.

        There is one at CFC:
For Civ3 1.29f and PTW 1.27f only. Concerning C3C, there's no planned version for the moment. Here is a description of this utility, from the readme : "Civ3Ext is a patch which adds a few extensions for Civ3 1.29f and PTW 1.27f, which is possible by accessing the memory space of the game...
