Scenario Load Times

My scenario is almost complete, and in it's current state it takes approximately 4-7 minutes load. I tried taking out some of the custom terrain and cities, but that didn't seem to help much. Is this the norm for custom scenario's in terms of load-time?

The loadtime is quite high for scenarios. That's one reason why many scenarios come with saves for each civ as well as the BIX file.

So instead of using the BIC, they use the SAV file to transport scenarios? Or both? I didn't think of that, but sounds clever. Would the SAV contain everything the scenario is supposed to, or would you have to transport (zip) other files with it?

The save files contain the rules as well, so you don't need the bix.
