  • Exceeded Maximum Hyperlinks: ...

As far as I can tell, there aren't any active posts here about this error. I am actually posting for my friend who does not have the internet. He is running Windows XP Home and when he gets to a certain research point(about late middle ages to early industrial) he gets an error message from Civ3 "Exceeded maximum hyperlinks"

    Any thoughts?

It's a Civilopedia problem. If you add a unit or building etc, the game automatically inserts a hyperlink in the pages that will take you to a description of a unit, for example. But there's only so much room available on each of the Civilopedia pages for these hyperlinks, and when you exceed that, you get that message. Just tell him to remove a few of the entries and it will go away.

You can get the message on vanilla PTW too. I always get it 'following' links.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing?

How to do that - removing entries?

Just have less units/improvements that cause the overrun. The most common reason is using resources for these. So for example, if the message appears when you open up Saltpeter, have less units that require that resource.
