Game Error! Help please...

Everytime, I have recently played Civilization 3 certain errors happen. Whenever, the game gets into its middle stages and most of the world has been settled the game freezes up and the usual Windows XP error message pops up promping me to send or not send the error. This has already happened in two of my games. In the first one, I tried to change the order of events, thinking that the current situation in my game caused some sort of abnormality. It worked temporarily, but later on in the game, maybe 5 or 6 turns later, the same message popped up. I quit that game and began another one, but the same thing is happening again.

Also, I have been having a similar problem whenever I attempt to build an army with any of my leaders.
