A known problem

I'm really sorry to bother you with a known problem, but
I still haven't found a solution yet.

In fact I need to play CIV III at a resolution of 800x600.
Is it possible? I found on the site, in the download section, an utility named ' Civ3 under 800x600 solution' but the link is broken!

I've also found nothing on other CIVIII sites.

To play at a non-standard resolution, at least on a PC, add a line "keepres=1" to your Civilization3.ini file. (The file is located in the directory where you installed Civ 3. You can edit it using Notepad or Wordpad.) Adding that line causes Civ 3 to play at the resolution you've been running your monitor at instead of changing to its default resolution. I tried switching to 800x600 resolution and it seemed to work fine (aside from only being able to see a tiny bit of the map at a time; I'm used to 1600x1200). I also tried hitting the "Z" key to zoom out, and I could see a pretty fair-sized area but of course everything was a lot smaller.

If you are playing PtW, I'd assume you need to make the change in the ptw.ini
