  • Hidden Nationality

    Hi!

Does someone try to create a unit with the Hidden Nationality flag ON?(ground unit)

If yes, how the A.I. Players use this units? Do he's use properly this units with no nationality?(or he just use this unit like any other units).

If I create a units with hidden nationality, do you think the Guerrilla can be a good units?
    6/6/1 90 Shields...maybe I can rise the shields to 100??? (A tank 16/8/2 cost 100 shields!)

What do you think about that?

    Nice day!

I have done it and the AI used it well. It almost got annoying. The AI would enter my territory and attack places, at one point they even captured an undefended city I had built.

The AI has no problem with Hidden Nationality anymore. Before the patches it caused the game to crash.

I made a ridiculously strong hidden nationality unit for my attempt of GOD-game, ie trying to force the other civs to get along, to maintain the status quo etc. by force if and when necessary. So I bombard two warring faction's units to red, hoping the casualties might get them to sign peace treaty. Instead, the races on for centuries, propably because nobody got the upper hand. So it engulfs the whole world... Finally peace reigns, but the civs have just been building units and are in midle-ages in 1928. Other attempt just had the ai ganging against me from the start...

Well, the hidden nationality doesn't really work, the civ knows who's behind the attacks and will eventually retaliate.

Another thing I've noticed is the fact that hidden units can take advantage of ROP's and railroads, giving an open season for worker hunting...
I've allways wanted to play "Russ Meyer's Civilization"

No, that's a good thing. It means that you have to use them with caution. If I have a foreign Settler crossing my borders heading for some territory I want for myself, I know if I take it out with my "roque" unit, I'll suffer a consequence. So I'll try to use them sparingly, and only as a last resort. I'll try first to block their path, and only attack them if they become a nuisance.

Another side effect I've noticed, if I have an unprotected hidden nationality unit in my territory, the AI will send in swarms of troops to take it out, much like they do with Barbs. So unless I want my territory overrun by potentially enemy troops, I have to be very careful how I move those units.
