In fact, I'm billing you for the last two or three sessions - 9 hours at $500 per hour for therapy for salving a bruised ego.

It was evident what you were going to do - use my civ as a jumping-off point to get to Makeo - I just took the preventative measures in the wrong order, unfortunately.
If that partisan wasn't there pillaging roads I was going to storm through with a connected rail to the coastline between your cities... You knew what you were doing

I was NOT going to attack you unless I had no other choice, which you gave me. Any attempt by me to build cities or rail in two movement terrain and Makeo would have just killed them.

Instead of taking preventative measures you could have done that deal with me and taken out Makeo's cap yourself.

Why don't you post any specific strategy points like I do?

I'd be interested to see them

I owe much of my skill in playing to Makeo anyway. I learnt heaps off him. I've learnt bugger all of you!

          • I would have thought you'd have now learned not to leave your main cities undefended when the satellite is up

                Very thoughtful of you

But what I'm more interested is how you managed to stay in democracy with huge pillaged cities, no happy wonders and units all over the place.

Some investigation of the saves might be in order in due course

You missed my point that (a) there's very little coastline available to be built on; and (b) you would've had to attack to get access to it anyway.

Instead of taking preventative measures you could have done that deal with me and taken out Makeo's cap yourself.

Without resurrecting the old debate, although my decision was flawed at the time in 1836 it was much worse as a result of the double civ attack...

                      That one intrigues me too.

Gee, we're zapping towards the 500 post mark. Makeo will have the - rare, I'm sure - privelege of starting a Part 2 of a thread.

OK, check them out. But this is sore loser territory now

Very sad to start casting aspersions now.

With big cities it's very easy to have troops away and maintain happiness. I usually play without Wonders to strengthen my ability to fine tune happiness whilst waging a war and still achieving a high GNP.

BTW Even if you look at the saves, how is it possible to alter this situation? I'm not even the host!

Be very careful about crossing this line Horsie.

How about a bit of Aussie sportsmanship and trust here?

                                nor has this!

                                a) you have not studied the map carefully enough finbar...

                                b) I would only have attacked if you were in the way - this is the end game, three turns to D Day...

That may not have won you the game but at least your civ would still be in tact and still in the running - as it is you are stuffed! Unless you wish to form a "co-operative relationship"
