OOC: Okay I will.... lets just say elections were called earlier than said due to instablitity, that has happened over 20 times in the last 40 years in Italian Politics. So just let me contiune on, or have my government overthrowned in the matter of months... due to high levels of instablitity in the Congress.

Italians Denounce Turkish Government
Presidental Speech
The new Isolationist Government of Turkey have endangered other economies in the region and potentially ours and Greece. The Italian Government is trying to maintain security for costly investment done by the private sector but our Patrol boats can be every where at once. This has posed serious problems since the stock market is plunge -1.6% today, and will see recovery once the Italian Penisula sees that the Shipping routes in Constantinople are reopened. If not the Italian Government will denounce Turkey as a threat and Isolatiionist Government and use force if investments are put at risk. The Italian Government has massive economic investments with Malta, Tunisia and several other countries that are being put in harms way. We wish that other countries join in and isolate Turkey from the world economy therefore shrinking its offensive economic, political and military capacities.

The Italian Stock Market Regains Ground
The Italian Stock market grew 3% turning around the loosing session, this has been because of brightening relations with the Heavy Tech Economy of Taiwan.

Several dozen Italian Investors to make several investments when Italian companies choose Taiwan as a region in Asia to do Business.

Italian Army Reports Movements
About 6,000 Men from an disclosed regiment have made several movements to Northern Italy for increased security because of fears from The Denmark ¨Rebels¨, this would give us adequate Military force in the region just in case anything happens. The well equppied Italian Army does not report movements in its own territory to publicly, but has left the notice that there are sizable movements of troops occuring. The group of Soliders may assist Germany if needed, but that may not be necessary because the Denmark Armed Forces are too weak for offense against Germany.

Italian Court Orders Sentencing for Shooters
The Italian Court located in Venice has ordered life imprisionment after the 3 month trial of 2 shooters who killed 6 people in a Bank when a robbery failed to work out when the Police worked out. They have been sentenced to 10 consecutive terms for 70 years each. The trial has turned chaotic sometimes, when the shooters said ¨Long live the Italian Mob¨. But in recent years the Italian Mafia has shown significant declines when more and more police started to end the unpopular and illegal activities. Considering only 5% of the Population supports the Mafia.

Italian Economy Increases (!) this year in Growth
The Italian Economy has sustained a goal to reach the economic growth rate of 3% this year, after the growth rate was a mere 1.7% last year. This unemployment has dropped 1.6% this year to 10.8% and is still high in South Areas. As soon as the Hi Tech investment gets larger in Southern regions, the unemployment will dip further. The industrial production growth rate has rose to 4.5% this year, from 2% last year. This has marked the unprecendendent turn in the 2nd/3rd largest economy in Europe (After Germany and Ties with France) GDP wise. The GDP Per Captia is the same as the rest of Europe being at $23,500. The GDP has reached $1.3 Trillion and is growing with modest gains.

Italian Military Gets Extension
The Italian Military has reached an extension in funding making the military budget absorb nearly 3.3% to train its forces better for combat situation. This is a 1% rise, and Professional Soliders now number 120,000 of the 165,600... from the 30,000 4 years ago. Since Italy has started to feel instablitity close to itself, and from its EU neighbors the Government has requested the general extension. This will leave room to request 350 more Ariete Tanks (Italian Design) in addition to the 200 Being built. This will increase the Army to 180,000 and will take 6 months.

State of the Union
I am glad to see all of you Italians attend this great event today. This event will be to discuss the problems our great country faces and the resolution to the problems that my government adminstration has presented to you. My Government has slated out an ambitious economic and government programme that will reduce the government size to make it more efficent. The economy will be more of a free market system since the Government still controls several sectors of the economy. These sectors, which include the gas, electricity and mining will be sold off to private interest. The private sector are our deepest concerns and should get the greatest attention in our country. Then we will reduce the deficit by reducing taxes, inturn increasing productivity, so that will make more money for the country. The economy at european standards, but still needs working on, so far progress has been substantial since the Taiwanese High Tech sector has moved in Southern Italy. The living conditions of Southern Italy still lag far behind Northern Italy and will be improved from greater foreign investment my adminstration will encourage. This will cause Italy to be more efficent in daily economic trading and in world affairs. The Military is at an adequate level, and spending has been increased to defend our nation from attacks and instablitity that has been occuring in the last few months throughout Europe. The Military will be expanded at regular pace with our economy and no over extensions will ever occur unless we go to war. But the call for war should be less then expected. The military has been increasing with the economy, but has been increased substantially from 1.9% to 2.5% in the past few months... 2.5% is the new figure and the spending will remain that way. Our Political system will be speeded up, and several political parties with little or no representation will be suspended from the Congress so that larger political parties can take their place. This makes our political system more effective and efficent. My months in office have been great ones with the joy of ruling a people who can pull through recessions without widespread problems, but let those recessions be no more with my presidency and my legacy.

Italian Government Issues Sanctions
The Italian Government has ordered immediate Sanctions against Turkey, the hostile neighbor whom has blocked off shipping to the Black Sea to assist Russia and Siberia, whom has posed serious economic disastor in the Asian and European continent. These sanctions have been called up by the Congress as follows by referembum:

Turkish Sanctions:
Yeah - 64.6%
Nay - 30.2%
Not Sure - 6.2%

Siberian Sanctions:
Yeah - 80.6%
Nay - 10.4%
Undecided - 9%

ooc: Sorry For the misunderstanding about the Eurofighter, what I meant to say is that Italy´s current fighter the F-104ASA-M Starfighter and Tornado IDS/ECR could fare well against Siberia´s poorly maintained AirForce.

New Tank: Ariete II
A new Tank has hit development called the Ariete II. This Tank will be a new land based fighting projectile which will be improved on the Italian Designed Ariete.. the improvements are listed as below:

-135MM Smooth Bore Cannon (Upgraded From 120MM)
-Better Armor (Which have Less Mass than Ariete I, but is improved to take more damage)
-Lighter Projectile Weight (The Weight will be reduced by using state of the art weapons and equpiment)

Total Cost - $6 Billion
Completion: 11 Months
To Be Built: 350 Annually

Note: The Ariete I will be stopped in production and just 100 additional Ariete I Tanks will be built. This will make way for possibly the best Tank in Europe.

New Fighter Plane Planned
A new Italian Fighter Jet has been planned, improving the AirForce's capabilities and efficency. This new Plane will have new electronics, radar and weapon guiding system. This Plane will carry small amounts of weapons, but be more agile than the Eurofighter EF2000 that will be in Service at 2003. This Plane may be called Garbaldi A-1 Fighter Jet... but that is not yet certain.

This Jet is meant to be economical and to supply the Current Tornado and Starfighter in Combat needs.

OOC: GC, I hate to break it to you, but the military isn't poorly maintained. Until a few months ago(game time), it was being maintained by Russia. Even now, it's just fine, as usually in a revolution the military gets most of the revolting government's money. Not to mention that F-104's are crap, and Tornadoes are quickly becoming obsolete.

Now, let's take a look at you. You're designing a new tank when you've just finished the Ariete, and you're designing a new fighter when you've just finished one of the most advanced in the world. Yeah, smart....

As the President of Abyssinia,I cordially give my congratulations to the new leader of the Italian Republic. Our two nations have bickered in the past, and I hope this does not happen in the future. On the matter of foriegn "assistance" given to my nation, Abyssinia at this time will not accept any foreign aid from a European power. We do, however, welcome any Italian Businesses that would like to open shop in Abyssinia.
