"It is time. The foolish democratic liberal government would have us rot under it's economic yoke of tyranny. We have sold our souls to the capitalist society. Instead of swords our men now carry cell phones. It is a disgrace" spat Etsuo Hirata. All the men in the circle nodded. Hirata stood in the cellar of an old building near Tokyo's business district. Ten more men sat in a circle around the table. The Japanese economy was once again in recession and with the re-election of the Jiyu Minshu-to this would not change. But that was not why these men were gathered here.

"Has the military agreed to support us?" asked Hirata. An elderly man with glasses spoke.

"The First Corps has agreed to help us seize the Kokkai and the Second Corps in Osaka has pledged loyalty. But all our military forces outside of Honshu have been unreachable. But I think we can count on them. They are tired of being forced to play second favorite to the pacifists and would be eager to flex more muscle" said the man. The dim lightbulb reflected Hirata's expression and he posed his next question.

"What about the Emperor?" Another man wearing the uniform of a Brigadier-General in the GSDF stood up. He spoke quickly.

"I believe that Emperor Akihito will not move against us. He knows about his father and the war before us. But I believe that Crown Prince Naruhito would be supportive" said the General. Hirata nodded.

The sun bounced of the many windows of the buildings in Tokyo's business district. A businessman in a fine suit was walking down the street when he heard a rumble behind him. He continued to walk, but noticed that the rumble was getting louder. All of a sudden a Jet roared over head and it fired into the distance. The man was awe struck for a moment than remembered the rumble behind him. He turned around to see a Type 100 tank rolling toward him. A small group of infantry men flanked the tank. Two Tokyo policemen had started to fire from their polcie box on the corner.

The infantry were taking refuge behind the tank trying to return fire with no luck. The turret of the tank began to rotate slowly toward the police box. It stopped and fired. The police box exploded as a 75 lb. explosvie tank round slammed into it. The businessman gasped and turned to run for his life.

Meanwhile at the Kokkai building the First Corps of the Ground Self-Defense Forces had layed siege. F-15 J/DJs roared overheard conducting airstrikes against the building. Some members of the Kokkai had tried to surrender but as they emerged from the building they were cut down by auotmatic weapons fire. They now lay on the steps in pools of drying blood. Major-General and commander of the First Corps Rensuke Yonai noticed that the members of the Kokkai seemed unwilling to come out.

"Allright" he said turning to his second in command Brigadier-General Tazaho Miyauchi " send in the cavalry". Miyauchi nodded and yelled some short clipped orders into his walkie-talkie. A group of infantry at the sandbags picked themselves up and moved forward to the armor at the front of the siege. The tanks began to rumble forward follwed by the infantry, who kept low. They all knew that there were security and Tokyo police forces inside the Kokkai building that would oppose them to the death, butthat wouldn'tbe a problem once the tanks entered the scene.

A couple Type 90s were rolling up the stairs, the bodies of the dead politicians crunched under the treads. The lead tank fired and blew open the front of the building where the infantry immediatly rushed out from behind the tanks and rushed into the building. Two security were gunned down almost immediatly. With the jets bombing the buildign from outside and the tanks guarding the "front door" there was practically no way out. The Shugi-in chamber was right ahead.

One soldier stepped forward and blew the door in with a rocket rifle. The soldiers burst in and gunned down every peron in uniform not wearing a Ground Forces uniform. Than they moved on to the Sangi-in chamber and repeated the process. However there they grabbed the members of the Sangi-in and marched them quickly back to the Shugi-in chamber.

Etsuo Hirata stepped up to the podium. Outside the flag of demoratic Japan had been ripped from the pole and replaced by the Naval Ensign to symbolize Imperial Japan. Inside all the members of the Kokkai were being held at gunpoint. Hirata smiled and began to speak.

"Esteemed members of the Kokkai, it may have come to your attention that the Japanese economy is once again in recession. This is because of your foolish pie i nthe sky hopes that Japan may mimic the western world to gain their respect. We need not mimic them to gain their respect. They respected us before we tried otbe like them. We invoked fear and repsect in our enemies and friends alike. And now we are controlled and fettered by the pacifist dogs. If anyone of you here believes that Japan has no need of a military please stand" said Hirata. One poor soul stodo up among the many. Hirata nodded and one soldier walked up behind the man and shot him through the back of the skull. Blood and brain tissue showered those beside him as his corpse dopped to the ground with a thunk.

"You see what pacifism brigns you? Nothing! Japan needs to proove once again that she has the might to face anyone" said Hirata. Than he stepped down from the podium. As he walked out of the chamber he whispered something in Miyauchi's ear. His second nodded and yelled an order to his men. The soldiers stepped forward and opened up on the Kokkai.

    Known to the World:
A coup in Japan led, apparently by the military has forced the democratically elected government from power.

The Italian Republic condenms this new government and orders there be elections immediately! We will not let our investments in Taiwan go to risk. Immediate economic sanctions will occur if you do not restore the democratically led government, because murder is the wrong way to go.

OOC: Thank you, The General. As Italy would generally care less too.

Giancarlo, if you do anything economically sanctioning Japan, it will hurt you ten fold more than Japan.

Pacifica is shocked at this new Empire of Japan rising up in the Pacific! We remind Japan of its agression towards us in the 1940s. If this happens again, it will be met with dire consequences... Although we do wish the new government luck with its people, we hope that a new era of imperialism in the Pacific is not immenent.

Our investment is moving towards China and Taiwan more nowadays, so we have nothing to fear. We are experiencing positive economic growth and Japan is in decline? We are just against murder, and the Italian War Crimes Tribunal (ooc: whom tried Pinochet) is not happy either.

The Italian Government has decided not to declare sanctions on Japan, for one unconditional condition: No more killing.

OOC: Italy invests more into China, Taiwan and Germany for our economy.

The Government of Taiwan wishes to unconditionally condemn the actions of the rebel forces in Japan, and tender its hope that democracy will be restored as soon as possible. The Taiwanese government will impose full sanctions on the Japanese nation until such time as a legitimate government comes to power.

OOC: Taiwanese government instigates sanctions. All aid planned and help to boost the Yen is pulled. Taiwanese military is placed on a full state of alert.

OOC: PPS - Polaris, is this OK?
