Civ 2 on Windows 8

My 10 year old computer finally melted down in which I played civ 2. Bought a new ASUS/ I7/ windows 8 machine. Any hope of getting civ 2 to run on it?

Every time this "can civ2 run on platform X" question comes up I point to VirtualBox. Just install WinXP in virtualbox and run civ2 on that.

If you have a 64 bit PC you'll need a patch, just google "civ2 64 bit patch" and you'll see it
