  • AWI Multiplayer?

I´m going to make a final version of my Independence War scenario. Seeing Tecumseh´s Multiplayer Civilwar and the playtests here in the forum lets made me thinking about a Multiplayer game for my scenario.

Currently I´m undecided if I should make a singleplayer scenario with a British and American campaign or a multiplayer game. I´m using the same map like Tecumseh (I´ve cut off the Mississippi area) so the map is big enough for a multiplayer game.

Are here many players interested in a Independence war multiplayer game?

Make a singleplayer version (I think it should work with your map), and then do a multiplayer version. It should be relatively to make the latter once you've done the former - just make a pared-down events file (since the human players won't need the "nudges" the AI does) and ... um ... stuff.

Sorry, my mind drew a blank. I'm pretty much an exclusive SP player, so I'd like the scenario be playable in that mode. Nothing against MP players, though.

I would be willing to play a multiplayer game but I agree with GhostOfDisco that it would be best to finish a single player version first and then make some alterations for multiplayer mode. We could always have a go at the current version in multiplayer mode to come up with ideas for both versions!

        You´re right guys.

It´s better to finish the singleplayer game and then maybe making a multiplayer game.

I´ve started so many project and never really completed them. During the hollidays I´ve some more time and hoping some more motivation for working on the scenario.

Currently I´m fitting the In-game graphics (the *.dll files) to the late 18th century era in North America. I find it´s looking much more better to see a picture of British Grenadiers marching through a city then a modern tank attacking a city when conquering enemy cities.

Pop up windows which appears when British troops conquering rebelious cities. The tank doesn´t really looking up to date. In my opinion a little bit too futuristic

This one is looking more appropriate

Looking good. As I said, I would be happy to play someone with the current files. We could then brainstorm some new ideas and pick up on things that need changing. Its up to you!

            Great to hear this

I will send you the files as soon as they are finished.

Another question, does anyone knows if the Tarleton Legion had a regimental flag? Unfortunatelly I didn´t find anything on the internet.
I´m trying to give the special troops regimental flags, because they are often carried together with the national flag at the battlefield.

I have just been having a little play around to familiarize myself with the map and the units. The units look great and give the scenario a great atmosphere that makes me want to immerse myself in the game. I will formulate a plan now and let you know how I get on.

I´m sure you will like the scenario.

Btw, I´ve also changed the in game graphics (the *.dll files). If you both would like to have them I can send them to you via email. Please let me know.

                          Sure, why not!

I have been playing this scenario all evening now and it is a really good one! I have got up to December 1776 and things are getting very tough indeed. So far I have managed to hold onto New York and Princeton but I think the Hessians are going to get a beachhead at Atlantic city and it will be very difficult to dislodge them from there as my forces are starting to get stretched very thin. Real nail biting stuff!

It was a little slow getting going but I do like the historical timeline. I now realize how important those quiet months were for allowing me to organize and build up my forces. I have kept detailed notes of my progress and I will type them up when I have finished this game. I think you are onto a winner here, the fact I am still playing at 1am is proof of that

Wow, this really is an epic scenario. Been playing all morning now and every turn is a real battle. I have to go into work this evening but I'm hoping it will be quiet enough for me to type up the fifteen pages of notes I have made so far. Would you like me to post them here or in an e-mail? I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone. My ignorance of events in the AWI are making this a lot more challenging!

Great to hear that the scenario makes you fun to play it.

I´m a little bit surprised that you are still holding New York. Unfortunatelly you don´t see all of the great British forces. On the other way it´s very interesting when the player goes another way then the historical one.

I´ve tried to make it historical accurate as possible. But the player should always have the chance to go his own way.

Please send me your notes via email, I´m really interested, how you managed the game until now.

Btw, I´ve send you and Fairline the modified mk.dll and tiles.dll files via email.
