Great, I´ve tried it and it looks really better now. Especially that you can change it permanently :-)

It's better. Too bad you have to beat them over the head before they're willing to listen.

Thanks a lot Jeroen! Criticism isn't always easy to take but at the end of the day the customer is always right. I think this new Light skin keeps all the 'black on white' fans happy whilst still fitting in with Apolyton's new look. I will be using the new light skin with the narrow columns and backgrounds, looks great! Look forward to seeing what images you guys choose for the backgrounds. Thanks for all the hard work!

            @ Jeroen Schweitzer

The new skin is indeed a delight for my tired eyes.

Thank you very much for taking the time to design and implement it.

I appreciate what you've done, Jeroen. And I appreciate the work of all of you to create a home for civ fans. But the debate on the Site Update & News forum involved days of denial and argument from Robert Plomp against near unanimous objection to the new color scheme by the users. It was frustrating and unnecessary. So I stand by my comment.

I can understand why Robert tried to make a stand. With such a dramatic change people are naturally going to take some time to adjust and I think it was sensible to try to persuade members to give the new theme a try. I think that as soon as it became clear that it was a bit more than an unwillingness to accept change and people genuinely couldn't work with the dark theme they Apolyton team were quick to say they would provide and alternative and they duly delivered. Its not easy to keep everyone happy but I think they have walked that tightrope successfully. Also a bit of drama never hurts, probably boosted the posts count a fair bit

Thank goodness there is a GFX setting that at least resembles the Poly of old...
