What is this "new environment?"
I'm sure many of us have seen the announcement, and those of you who have not, the person who made the announcement said something about a "new environment." What does this mean?

As far as I undesrstand it they are trying to migrate all the date over to a new server. This is proving to be problematic due to the ammount of data and the fact that a lot of it is corrupt. The last thing they want to do is risk losing large chunks of Apolytons history which is why they are going to play it safe and why the site may be down for a while while they do the work. This is just my understanding of the situation from reading the Looking Forward thread in the Site Feedback & News forum.
When Robert Plomp took over Apolyton I believe he was planning to update a lot of things to keep the site current. It seems to be a mammoth project but I wish him the best of luck! -
Is there maybe going to be a new url for everything, or will it have no negative effects on us Civers?Comment

I expect everything will remain fairly consistent for members, same url, same user profiles etc...Comment
