  • Roman Civil Wars.

I have been looking at techumseh's Roman Civil Wars TOT scenario, and note that most resources show up the wrong way. Some show up as oil and such.
I have animated terrain disabled though. Anyone know why this is?

Also that when I start the game as the Senate I have lots of units in the city of Rhodes. Rhodes is controlled by barbarians!

Most resources? It's a bug with looping animated terrain resources. It can be fixed by dropping a dummy resource.spr file into the scenario directory. See here (Sprite Options → 1. Game menu → Animated Terrain).

I think it says something about the player controlled units inside barbarian cities somewhere in the read me. Techumseh is on holiday at the moment so we won't get an answer form him for a few weeks.

        Catfish answered that!

Yes, this is on purpose! Here is the explanations Techumseh gives in the readme:
"The Senate and the Syrian Legions have units which start in barbarian cities. These represent units based in Rhodes and allied Armenian and Judean units respectively. Move them the first turn and DON'T fortify them in place, or you'll never be able to move them again."
