  • Switching events files without delevent

Given Windows Vista and Windows 7 (I have the latter now) don't support batch or delevent files, has anyone found a method that works in those two operating systems to reset an active scenario's events file so another can be used without using a delevent file?

Batch files work just as well for me now as they did when I had WinXP.
    I have Windows 7 now.
So I guess one of us has gotten this whole thing wrong, and I do not think it's me!

Because of PC problems, i came up with a novel solution.

Since I have huge drive space, i set up a drive to start on windows XP for games, and store all my old games on it.

This isn't hard to do, when you start up it asks which OS you want, Windows 7 or XP, if I want gaming its XP.

Not had so many problems with old games yet.
Have not tried Master of Magic or Colonization yet though, guess they might be tricky.

            I don't know if it works :
when you want to change the events file, you can save your game. For example, game.sav. Then you quit civilization and rename game.sav to game.scn and replace the old Events file by the new one.
You can after this reload the game.scn with the new Events file.

It's the same method in the spartacus scenario.
