The files for Heraclius are for MGE Heresson, not ToT as you implied. Any chance you can show us the ToT version, as I want to give this a whirl?

I really do not understand. I never used MGE, I do not even have it isntalled on my laptop (I have it installed on another computer, though). How could those files be for MGE?

I'm at work atm, so I can't check, but when I DL'ed the files and fired up ToT, I was given the 'this scenario was made on an old version of civ' (paraphrasing) message. I loaded up the units file and it seemed to be an MGE/FW small file rather than a larger ToT one. I'll double check I haven't stuffed up here tonight.
Has anyone else successfully downloaded and played Heraclius in ToT yet?

back home H., and I've DL'ed Heraclius again. The units file is definitely MGE and I get the 'failed to load game: file is in an obsolete format.'
Dammit, I'm going to be forced to convert Komnenai and Fading Lights to get my Byzantine fix!

Sorry, but I don't really know how to help. These are the files I was using, and it worked fine... anyway, thanks for showing interest."I realise I hold the key to freedom,

I think your first post gives the impression that the Heraclius files are for Test of Time Heresson. The Heraclius scenario files in post #2 are definitely not for Test of Time. I guess they were made using Fantastic Worlds and would also work with Multiplayer Gold Edition, though the AI will be more aggressive. Perhaps you have the ToT files somewhere else on your hard drive?

If you no longer have the ToT version H I'll have a go at converting this myself. This'll probably mean a new units file I'm afraid; that's no reflection on your drawings old bean, it's just that I can't play a scenario without doing this....

I've checked and it seems that I've given you the files that were in my ToT folder. However, this isn't my last version, as it misses some changes I've certainly made. There is, therefore, a certain probability that the scenario that I have in my current ToT drive is not the ToT developed one (especially since the last change is from 2004, and I surely made some changes after that, although not to many. There is one explenation for it, and it is that I've reinstalled the ToT on my new laptop, and put the FW version of Heraclius inside. If so, it means that the ToT, more developed, version, is in my old laptop. My old laptop has a serious problem with its Windows, it crashes when I start it. It can be mended, it already was, but it's happened again...
It's the only reason why this is not a ToT version. And it explains why the last changes are from 2004... damn.
Perhaps I should finally ask someone to fix my old laptop."I realise I hold the key to freedom,

I haven't fixed the old laptop for about 2 years....
But my new laptop is broken as well, so I might as well go to fix 2 laptops instead of 1... we shall see."I realise I hold the key to freedom,

Komnenai
You fixed that laptop yet H. ?
I posted this elsewhere, bought realised posting in this thread might get an e-mail prompt to you:
I've pretty much finished making up a new units file for a ToT version of Komnenai, and I want to play the scenario. There are a couple of things stopping me atm. First, the FW versions of Komnenai posted at the SL and BeBro's old site don't include an 'events2' file. I can't recall having a problem with events swapping when I played the FW version years ago, but I may have forgotten.
Second issue is that I'm not really sure when exactly to change events and rules. Your readme says change events every half century, and rules when prompted by events. Would that be every half century after the scenario starts, or 1100, 1150, 1200 etc? Looking through events 1, 3 and 4, a rules change is only called for twice I think.
Any help would be appreciated!

I believe that I've posted Komnenai with all events files, except for that it had events 2 loaded, not events 1; so you just have to swap it to the beginning.
1100, 1150, 1200.
when it comes to one files (events I believe)
the ruler's death when it comes to another, so when Alexius dies, you change a file; when Kalojoannes dies; when Manuel dies.
The change of rules is not very important, there are only a minor changes there: weakening of the ruler's unit, and bigger defence for coast terrain, perhaps something else, I do not recall.
