I've discussed this with Ciaran via PM before, that I don't have as much time or motivation for civ2 as I used to (it's all about school, work and the personal life). I still check in as often as I can, but I still feel that someone else that wants to be more active and write news items should be a mod. I'd be happy to stay as a mod, and I think it's excellent that McMonkey volunteered, and even have some ideas."Peace cannot be kept by force.
It can only be achieved by understanding"

I also would like to nominate McMonkey for the Mod-Job.
I hope that the new owners don´t remove this forum, because here are so many great peoples, great scenarios and very good advice and artwork.
Unfortunatelly I don´t have so many time but I´m still working on my scenario project and have also two others in mind; one medieval time scenario (during the crusades) for TOT and maybe a Napoleonic scenario.

@Arthedain:
I mentioned to the admin that we would still like to keep you on as a mod, due to the
fact that you are a veteran here and know all the forum people. And you still will be
able to jump in when RL situations allow - I merely needed another mod to help out.
You are still a much-valued fellow staff and CIV-man!

I've been asked by the folks at Scenario League to get in touch with you and Jeroen to discuss your plans regarding our corner of the site. First, here's a bit of history about us and Apolyton:
Scenario League is an independent site, controlled by its' (active) members. It's really a collective enterprise hosted by Apolyton. It started as a separate site, called the "Civilization II Artificers Guild". By agreement, it was incorporated into 'Poly, but with an agreement that it retain it's autonomy. Since joining 'Poly, it's always had it's own site - now the Scenario League wiki. Most of the earlier site can still be found via links to the wiki site.
As Apolyton is our host, and we have 10 years of work stored on its' server, we're naturally interested in your plans for the future. Areas of direct concern for us include our forum and it's archive, and the Scenario League wiki as well as the Cradle of Civilization site. Related sites in which we have a stake as well are the Civilization Scenario Collection and the Spanish Civilization site.
We'd like to be involved and do what we can to support the new leadership. What we ask is to be consulted about any changes that may affect us, and to get lots of advance notice of any such changes. Apolyton is our home, and we want to see it stronger and better than ever. Thanks.
Brian Mason (techumseh) on behalf of Scenario League
Re: Greetings from Scenario League
Hello Brian,
I am sorry for the late reply.
Thanks for your well wishes!
We do not have the intention to remove any hosted site or site section from Apolyton.
We will focus more on regular civ in the future though. That means that links to civ-games will be very visible while other site sections may be a bit more in the background.
Since SL is very civ related we are very happy to keep you as a hosted site!
Thanks for you offer for help.
I see that you are using a wiki, we intent to start using wiki's more for apolyton as well.
First thing we're thinking about is setting up a civ4 strategy wiki.
Can you help us doing that?
We will defenitely consul you about any possible change regarding SL.
If this msg keeps leaves some questions open, please tell me!
Greetings,
Robert
