Time to say goodbye to fiber optic Internet , constant A/C and impossible heat and humidity , and head home to @#$%&! dial-up Internet , at most a few days of A/C and very pleasant summer temperatures at the lake .

See y'all in 5-6 days, depending on how slow our driving and the dial-up are this year.

Last summer in Wales it mostly rained, hoping this year will be big improvement. I would settle for whatever heat and humidity I can get, unbearable or otherwise Unbearable heat for most Brits is about 30 degrees, falling asleep in the open and getting an all over Lobster tan/burn

It's good to be home

Thanks for the good wishes.

Also, thanks to the magnificent U.S. Interstate system......I 75 to be specific..... we got here after the usual 28 hours on the road. It was very interesting gradually to go from lush green summer to spring and then very early spring with bare trees and leaves just starting to appear. Also, as one drove through the upper Midwest and Canada, there was no doubt that, as far as roads are concerned, there are only two seasons ... winter and construction.

The nice trip was followed by a less than joyful switch to dial-up, a process that was lengthened considerably when Internet Explorer froze up whenever it was opened. I finally traced the problem to a piece of crapware called Yahoo Companion which had installed itself on ODDJOB II. It deservedly got kilt ASAP.

Back to playing the TOT version of BONAPARTE II, an excellent conversion of a scen that IMHO has some easily fixable fundamental flaws. Will report when finished.
