  • symantec civ2.exe trojan

After updating my Vista laptop with the latest updates from Microsoft today, my (corporate) Symantec AV has detected Civ2.exe as a trojan. It has been put in quarantine and Civ now stopped working.

Anyone else had this problem, and if so, what's the solution?

Put the original Civ2.exe in your Civ2 folder again.

yes. Apparantly the civ2.exe hack, that decreases my cpu usage for Civ from 50 to about 3%, is being labeled as a trojan.

        My civ2hack (size 2 489 344, md5 21f1604c69ab0efe5217a7e29e7207fc), is marked as clean by Avast.
I would be surprised if it was really virus, as civ2hack.txt shows a list of all changes of the exe-file.
Best to ask in the CivFanatics' thread where civ2hack was published...
