I'm just getting started on a new scenario, Malaya-Burma. Does anyone have any good graphics of individual jungle trees?

Never mind, I found some in an old copy of "Rising Sun" by Talonsoft.

The map and terrain files are done, and I'm starting to work out the units and their stats. Fairline has agreed to help with Orders of Battle and, of course, the unit art.

I'm thinking two-week turns, with alternate files for the monsoon season (May-Sept). Moving and attacking will be much for restricted during monsoon. I'll use a bat. file system to change files between seasons.

I'n thinking of 2 separate scenarios, first a short one covering the Japanese offensive Dec 1941 - May 1942 and second, the Allied counter-offensive from Nov 1943 - March 1945. Once these are worked out, I'll try to link them in a campaign scenario.

Suggestions for orders of battle, units, events, etc. are welcome.

Attached are some screenies of the map. Rangoon:

Yay! I'm glad you're still around. I was hoping you might be interested in advising/playtesting on this project. Come on, you know you want to!

I don't have a copy of Civ2 on my new-ish (last April) computer and can't find the CD, so I can't playtest. I am happy to advise though.

That's a fine looking map, good scale and mix of terrain. I'm really looking forward to this one!

I agree with McMonkey. Very beautiful images.
The idea for a monsoon season batch file sounds fantastic! It would be really interesting to have several scenarios in the same folder welded together into a sort of choose your own adventure meta-scenario using event calculated (or just house ruled) victory outcomes to choose options in a batch file... it might be a way to separate the tactical and the strategic level games

Thanks guys. Can anyone do me an artistic favour? I'm just not good at water buffalos.

Would a rather crudely extracted ox from a caravan unit by fairline suffice? I'm not certain whether this fits your requirement exactly, being uninformed on the finer points of bovine physiology.

It certainly has much greater artistic merit, but I don't think anyone would confuse it for a water buffalo.

Don't know if any of this terrain may be useful but there is a black Water Buffalo like creature amongst all the foliage!
