Autoplay/registry problem in ToT

Does anyone know a workaround or fix for this one? Every so often, autoplay on ToT stops working - when I put the CD in, the opening splash screen has "play" deselected and only "install" is highlighted. However, I can start the game normally from the Start Menu.

Also, Norton Utilities' System Doctor seems to have a problem with ToT, which may be related to the above problem. It keeps claiming that the registry entry for "Civ2TOT.exe" is invalid, then deletes it during the repair process.

Suggestions?

Sorry, I haven't seen that problem--does it happen with any other game CD? Also, have you recently changed CD drives and/or drivers?
