  • Invading Earth succession game

I haven’t seen a ToT succession game so far. Here’s what I propose. We play the extended original as the Aliens, starting on a giga random map on Alpha Centauri, and then we try to invade Earth (maxiworld map of 143x229).
The stories should be quite interesting to write : for example :“Cyborgs ravage rich towns of the Indus Valley area while Centaurians Ongshawks fly over Himalaya to make rear attack on Indians troops”
The game would present 2 very different challenges. First we would need to micromanage (probably with perfectionism style) to get science going while alone on Alpha and then we would manage a full scale war on two planets.
Please tell me if you want to join.
I’ve also posted this topic in the ToT forum for advertisement purposes , but I suggest we do all discussion here.
I’ve also posted this topic in the Civ2/General forum and I suggest we do all discussion there. (to make jealous those who don’t own ToT).

I'm up for this. Have you seen this thread yet, Julius? http://apolyton.net/forums/Forum29/HTML/000805.html

It's actually not that hard to win playing as the aliens. You can practically have no defense in your cities up until the very end. And depending on how far ahead you are at the end, an invasion of earth can be very easy. I decided to invade once, and found the Russians defending their cities with musketeers, against my Stealth Bombers. It was a quick war...

Sandmonkey, I want to play this one Deity/Bloodlust/Raging hordes. And on a 143x229 map of earth the AI civs will have a lot of room to expand and prosper. I’m not even sure we will be the 1rst to land. Drakens and Kestrels will blow off the air the stealth fighters and bombers soon enough.

Forget about this particular message. It has nothing to do here. I can't delete them, though !

Good ! We would be 3 then !
I think it would be enough to give it a try.
Yet, I propose we wait a few days more, because being 5 would be great.
Sandmonkey, are you still ready to play ? And do you think the other player who tried with you the Alien strategy in the link you gave me in your post would be interested ?

Ok, lets wait a few days. In the meantime why not work out the technicalities? I have my e-mail in my profile and I assume so does everybody else. How many turns should each player make before passing the game on?

                      Great, Zulu-E ! now we’re 4. Ideally, I’d like us to be between 5 and 10.
I propose we start the succession game this Sunday. In the meantime, could everybody post his e-mail.

LordMP, your connection is not a problem, because succession game means that we will e-mail the .sav file to each other and take turns to lead our empire to victory.

Yes, LordMP. I start the game, play 15 turns (for example) and then send the game to Sandmonkey, who plays 15 turns and then send the game to Roman who ... I think you get the pictures.
It is fun to play this way and to mix strategies. What's more, we usually try to write a nice little story to go with our short reigns, so the next people might get a clue at we were doing.
